"Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards."Proverbs 12:14 NLT
Benefits & Rewards. The Bible was speaking about them long before customer loyalty programs with your favorite airline, restaurant, or retailer. Those customer loyalty programs are designed to give you back a percentage of what you have already spent. In the end, while you might enjoy the reward, you still have less than what you started with. The Bible's describes benefits that are permanent and reward that are incremental. In this passage the subject remains the value of hard work. First a few wise words related to hard work.
Wise words bring many benefits. Wise words from the book of Colossians; "Work willinglyat whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ." Colossians 3:23-24 NLT
How do you know if you are working hard? I might suggest that you track it. It has been said l that anything that you track will improve.
When we lived in California we belonged to the YMCA there. On each visit you would log in to start and the again on each machine you used. At the conclusion of your work out when you logged out you would see how long you worked out, how much weight you lifted, and where you were ranked in the club. The tracking motivated the members to improve and also inspired a little friendly competition. The same principles now apply to personal fitness apps, weight loss apps, and reading apps. Anything you track will improve. Setting goals, tracking time, and recording objectives might all be good practices that will help you to work hard.
Some of the rewards for hard work? Well expressed by Dr. Ben Carson. "Through hard work, perseverance and a faith in God, you can live your dreams."
The first seed of Seeds to Life is the wheat seed, which represents the Seed of Work. Work is good for us. It helps us to become who God created us to be.
"I am who I am today because of the choices I made yesterday.” -Eleanor Roosevelt
