Learn to Walk with Wise

"The instruction of the wise is like a life-giving fountain; those who accept it avoid the snares of death...Wise people think before they act; fools don’t—and even brag about their foolishness.... Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble." Proverbs 13:14,16, 20 NLT

It has been wisely said that wisdom is knowledge rightly applied. In this weeks passage we find an illustration of that progression from Proverbs Chapter 13.

Learn v.14- Instruction is life-giving to those who accept it. Seeking and learning is the first step in the process.

"The clouds may drop down titles and estates; wealth may seek us; but wisdom must be sought". Edward Young

Think v.16- Wise people think before they act.

"I don't think much of a man who is not wiser today than he was yesterday." Abraham Lincoln

Walk v.20- Walk with the wise and become wise. Acting on what has been learned and thought through is the application of knowledge.

"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise," Ephesians 5:15 ESV

There is a process of applying knowledge in our lives. We need to learn, think and then walk. Wisdom and the progression of a life well lived.

This week seek wisdom, think about what you find, and then walk with the wise.
